Scholarship Opportunity
Washington College Bound Scholarship:
Thanks to a new state-sponsored scholarship, there is hope and incentive
for students who otherwise might not consider college as an option because
of their family’s income. This
four-year scholarship, in combination with other state aid, can help cover
the cost of college tuition, fees and books for low-income students who
sign a pledge in seventh or eighth grade.
But our 8th graders MUST apply by June 1. Go to www.hecb.wa.gov/collegebound for more
information, or call 1-888-535-0747.
Annual
Measurable Achievement Objectives
Title I and Title III of the “No Child Left Behind” (NCLB) Act
include English Language Learners (ELL) in the Washington State
accountability system and require our state to set performance targets
referred to as Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives for English
language proficiency and “exit”-from-program rates of English Language
Learner students.
The “No Child Left Behind” (NCLB) Act requires Washington State
to inform districts as to whether or not they met the Title III Annual
Measurable Achievement Objectives. The purpose of this statement is to
notify the parents of English Language Learner students that Washington
State did not provide Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives results for
the 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06 as required by the “No Child Left Behind”
(NCLB) Act.
Beginning with the results of the 2006-07 school year, the state is
notifying districts of their status in meeting the Annual Measurable Achievement
Objectives. The following link shows the
results for Entiat for the school years 2003-04 through 2006-07 with regard
to the Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives.
Please contact Michael Wyant, Superintendent, if you have any
questions.
